This is Jasper.....My Sister-In-Law found him abandoned as a baby and nursed him back to health and has been his Momma for about 11 years. She adores him as much as he adores her, now my Brother-In-law who is such a practical joker and I SHOULD have known better, said to me and duh, I believed him! Said,"Oh he's sweet, he likes women, but he's not to fond of men though, put your hand up to his cage opened palmed and let him sniff you" Well, he almost took my hand off!!! Between him and my Husband I couldn't tell who was laughing harder so I hit both of them! lol.......Now I know why he has the look of a bad guy(masked) and is behind bars.........the raccoon that is........not my Brother-In-Law!

My father is an avid gardener. He believes that squirrels, possums, and raccoons have conspired against him to eat his produce before it can mature. He discovered a raccoon, ravaging his garden. (Can you imagine a raccoon living on the south side of Chicago.) Well he caught him, and it turned out to be tantamount to having a tiger by the tail. The darn thing growled and snarled so much he was afaid to let him out of the cage, he thought the d@#n thing was going to run up his pant leg.He ended up calling animal control to take him away cage and all. My siblings and I still laugh about the time he thought he caught a raccoon, and the raccoon caught him.
They look sooo cute but brother they can put up quite a fight. I haven't had too much of a problem with Rocky Racoon but the Opposums are a different story..I had a Mama that thought she & her babies belonged in my house. Almost every time I opened my back door this thing wanted in...kinda demandin too. We *hubby* finally captured it and released into the wild (well state park). Cute picture ... Sandi

And you let them live to tell about it???? LOL! Cute little booger though! My cousin has/had one for a pet. Their paw pads are soooo soft! Sheila
Coons can be very aggressive--they are sweet when they are little though!
