weekend update! lol

I'm still trying to learn to balance what I can do and what I want to do without over doing it....stubborn Irish Woman still thinks I can run full steam ahead....and then I pay for it the next couple of days. I just have a hard time passing up when I have the energy to do something....Jim yells "Don't over do it!" and I say, "I won't!"...then I do. So after a busy weekend out at the lake, he's playing hookie today, the kids are no longer in school..(Thank God! I was getting real sick of that routine!) Summer means sleeping in and with teenagers..I practically have the house to myself until they awake from their summer coma's in the late afternoon! Yipeeeee! lol

I remembered to bring my camera out to the lake this weekend and was able to get some of my family to cooperate with some updated family photos. I didn't get a chance to do some fishing it was more of a laze around the lake, take a few naps and a whole lot of good eating...I just love the idea as a family we can all get together every weekend just like my childhood was when I was growing up...Aunts, Uncles, Cousins everywhere and a lot of good friends that have become family...I hope my children end up cherishing these kind of weekends memories as they grow up and have families of their own.

Me and My guy.....Ü.....notice the lovely radiation burn to my forehead! Dr. Nuke wrote me a prescription that should have the burn cleared up in a week......my 15 year old son gets so upset when I have the bandage off that he just hugs me a lot and says how bad he feels for me...He can be so sweet when he wants to be! lol

Next two pics are of My Middle Daughter Amanda and her boyfriend plus my youngest daughter Rachel that ya can't see along with my Niece on the back of the paddle boat and then My oldest Daughter Melissa and her husband Tony ( who wasn't thrilled with the camera flash! lol) and their two "Children".....my grand dogs Beefy and Blu! lol

That smile of yours just lights your face up so much, that the burn is 2ndary to it.  I'm glad you are doing well, and enjoyed time at the lake with your family.  What a lovely picture of you a hubby! :)

You look happy and sometimes, isn't that half the battle?  Thanks for sharing your family pics!

Good hearing from you Kimberly.  Thanks for sharing the pictures of your family.  Sounds like getting away to the lake, even if you just relax is good for you and all the family. Sorry about the radiation burn.  If you aren't taking ginger, be it tea, the gingersnap cookies or just the spice, give it a try and see if it helps with the burns.  Hopefully the prescription the Doc gave you will help you dear. Your 15 year old son sounds like a caring young man.....you're a lucky lady to have such a great kid.  Yea I know teens can keep you going at times, that's the joy of being a Mom.  Take care.  Hugs to you dear....Arlene (AJ)

Thanks for sharing your pics. I'm sorry for the radiation burn. I hope the medicine helps it heal quickly. I'm so glad you got out to the lake and were able to have some R&R out there. Nothing like being outside with family/friends.
Take care...

Kim it is wonderful that you and your family have a closeness that so many families will never have the pleasure of being a part of. Indeed you are blessed and so am I for your kindness in allowing us to be a part of your life. Your family is as beautiful as you are. I believe that beauty will be passed down through the generations, something I am sure you can be quite proud of.

Real beauty is not stopped by something as temporary as a burn. While it's true you're fortunate to have that marvelous support network around you there, I think they - and we, your readers, too - are at least as fortunate to have you, Kim. You don't speak lessons of strength and character, you demonstrate them in the most natural way in everything you do.

Keep 'em flying, Kim.

It was so good to read your entries and learn that your cancer treatment really is working and that is something to be thankful for.  You have really conveyed your joy in being alive and that is miraculous.  I did not expect to be lifted up coming to your blog.  Gerry  http://journals.aol.com/gehi6/daughters-of-the-shadow-men/

Too bad it wasn't Halloween time you could have added a bit with the fun make up kits & presto! :-) Heal soon! Glad you are having lots of fun, rest & food! :-) Do I smell smores?

You are beautiful !  Never mind the rad' burns as they will soon go.  I swear by Aloe Vera.  So soothing and healing too.  I love your stubborn Irish streak also.  Hey!  I have Irish decendants in my genes too you know.  I too am stubborn....lol!
I am so happy to read about your family weekend gatherings.  That's what life is all about.   Family and good friends!  Live it to the full....xxx  Jeanie

Those are some really nice family pictures.  I wish I could have been there.  Just so you know I overdo it all the time.  When you find that thing that they talk about you know the balance.  Please let me know because I truly suck at it.  I am a excellent planner of what I am going to do for the day.  However, when I feel good my execution of what I'm going to do really sucks.  http://journals.aol.com/mztishgray0726/all-things-are-possible-2/ Tish G.
