Went fishing! Or at least tried to! lol

I spent the whole weekend out at the lake! And even thought I spent the weekend out at the lake my attempt at fishing had Jim untangling my lines all weekend, getting my lures out of trees, getting my line un snagged from the bottom of the lake.....It's a good thing he has more patience with me the cancer patient than the fisher woman in me! lol

My youngest Daughter turned sweet (sarcastic) 16 over the weekend and it was nice to get the whole family and friends to help celebrate it with us....She spent most of the time doing her behind the wheel hours with my relatives....(Thank God) I took her out once and had to come back home 10 minutes later and take two Xanax and go to bed....like I don't have enough stress at this time right??? lol

I wanted to show you the mask I had to wear for my 15 rounds of whole brain radiation...I was strapped to the table by just my head and it was a lil freaky but I am very thankful that it was very brief...under a minute and a half....what helped me go to a happy place was running my fingers over the tiles that many of you donated to with the help of Ang and
The Giving Tree .....I can't tell you how much comfort I got just from running my fingers over and over the tiles.......You truly are angels in my life and I will forever be grateful and always remember to pass along the kindness that I have been shown since becoming ill last summer!

My lovely mask! lol

The Charm Bracelet

I'm finally feeling well enough to want to start running around with my camera, so I did get a cute picture to share in my other journal, take a peek if ya wanna.

God Bless you, Kim.  I don't know that I could wear one of those masks.  Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend.

Glad that you had an enjoyable weekend. Including fishing. At least the mask has holes in it so you don't feel so smothered. Helen

Congratulations to your daughter on turning Sweet 16! I don't think I would be able to breathe with a mask like that on. I'm glad you are out and about enjoying life, the lake looks so peaceful.
Love & Hugs,
Debbie

That mask plain scares me!  AOL does weird things, half the time I can't get into your journal. Or do you sometimes go private?  Your courage and humor are going to get you through this.

I've heard that the literal translation of the phrase used in Borneo to indicate that you're going fishing means that you're going to visit the fish.

Glad you had a great weekend.

Happy Birthdays.... I remember the first time my oldest drove around the block, that's as far as I made it, lol, around the block and told him ok that is enough for today... he drove ok just too nerve wracking for moms....
and I'm sure hubby was glad to have to untangle your lines and have you with him then not feeling well in the truck....
that is a freaky mask, I would be too claustrophobic....
Have a great day!
Linda :)

I haven't fished in ages.. not since being a kid.  I imagine I'd be tangling things up as much as you seem to have during your recent trip.  Still.. I bet it was lovely being on the lake.   Estela

Kim, sounds like your lake weekend was just what you needed even though Jim had to keep baling you out, lol.  Know you daughter enjoyed her 16th bash with all of you....yes can understand how you needed the Xanax and bed rest afger taking her out in the car.

Like you when I have to have tests, treatments, I also put myself in another place like you did, sure does help doesn't it dear. Was some kind of a mask, glad you didn't have to wear it long.....keep the spirit Kim, worth it for the help it will give you in getting better.

Loved your picture at the lake....so peaceful.
Hugs to you dear....Arlene (AJ)

<shudder> Mike Meyers flashbacks! <shudder>   That looks unpleasant, but at least it was short!

Running over now to look at the new photograph! I'm back from vacation, but haven't got caught up yet.... Hopefully I will get a 'what I did on my summer vacation' entry done soon <LOL>

I actually gasped when I saw the mask because I can not imagine how smothering that must be.  But, you know, you are killing the cancer so the Mike Meyers mask is sort of appropriate!  I feel your pain with teaching your 16 year old how to drive...the first time I had to do that, I lasted about 10 minutes too and then left the bulk of it up to the hubby!  I got past it and thought it was so scary, but now that she is getting her license in 2 short days...I find the thought of her driving alone much more terrifying!  Ah!  I am glad you had a nice time driving your fisherman hubby crazy with untangling the lines!  You are a better wife than me...I won't even pick up the pole, but I am a whiz at holding that lawn chair down!  Glad to hear you sounding so happy and relaxed!  -Kelly

I started to get teary, when I saw the mask...  Thinking of how hard it must have been for you to go through that, and to go through all that you go through.  Then, while reading on, I felt your strength and your courage, and knew in my heart that you were okay.  I'm so thankful that you found comfort in the running your fingers over those tiles, and that the love in your heart made it all bearable.

You are such a beautiful soul, Kim.

I love to fish, and have since I was a little girl, hobbling along beside my dad.  My girls don't enjoy it as much, and I get nervous going out alone, so I haven't been in a couple years.  I miss it.  I think I'll venture out again soon.  I'll MAKE my kids go!

Love ya!

Michelle

The thought of having that mask on and being strapped to a table .... Bless you Kim, you are indeed one tough Pink Warrior.

Oh ya...I'd need sedation too. Well do they let you keep it when you are done? That would come in handy at Halloween! HA!

Wow, gal...I see why you said you felt claustrophobic getting fitted for your mask. Reminds me of Silence of the Lambs. Maybe you can threaten the "sweet" 16 yr old with it! hehe...
Sooo glad you are out & about! :-)
