Sir Winston Churchill was known for his dry humour. I may have this wrong but I think it was him who was accused by a Lady, at a party, of being drunk. He replied " Madam, I may be drunk, but in the morning I shall be sober, whereas you will still be ugly! LOL.
Have you heard the country song (I'm not sure of name and artist, but to lazy to Google <g>) that has the chorus... "If your going thru Hell, Keep on going, don't slow down.. something.. something... You just might get out before the devil knows you are there" Yeah, I can't remember all of the words <LOL>
Oh, heck... I googled it:
