Hiya!...long time no keyboard! lol

I think might be the longest I've ever stayed away from my blog! I'm still trying to adjust to my new chemo, not as harsh as the A,C and T that they give you when you are first diagnosed with breast cancer but not as easy as the Xeloda. The first week they gave me back to back treatments to get a jump start..that was a Monday, I didn't wake up till Thursday......seriously! Whenever I woke up it was day light but I didn't know if it was A.M. or P.M. I lost 7 pounds in my sleep even though Jim tried everything to get me to eat including calling in the reinforcements! lol Mom, Sister, Brother....2nd chemo was only 1 dose.......not so much a coma that week....still tasted buds are M.I.A :( 3rd week just blood work but they already had to reduce my chemo....blood count dropped enough to warrant it. So I'm hoping by the this time next week I'm settled into a routine with the new chemo/sleep....I still lose my words (very frustrating), I still lose my voice after each chemo session....So just when I start to have some really good days ( bad days aren't bad at all...not sick just sleepy...how hard is that right?? lol lol lol) ..... its chemo time again! lol Other than that we just did tumor marker tests yesterday and I won't know the results of those until next Monday... So once again I throw my faith, trust and hope into a new batch of chemo and hope 3rd time is the charm!

I'm going to be going up north soon and I can't wait!.....Bald Eagles, Northern Lights, friends we only get to see once a year and I hope by then I will regained enough of my strength that I carelessly gave away. It's weird, I've never gone that long without almost proper (I'm bad) nourishment and how fast it attacks the body and the mind...everything gets weak on you, your muscles, your eyesight, your mind plays tricks on you....so many times I thought I heard things I didn't, seen things that weren't there! Some of it was pretty funny but it had Jim worried enough that he took off last Friday because he thought he was going to have to hospitalize me for dehydration and maybe a feeding tube. I'm not going to let myself do that again....fridge is stocked with ensure, boost, carnation instant breakfast and moose tracks ice cream! lol.....vanilla of course!

Well, I'm going to try and catch up on journals....I turned a majority of them off when I was in Kentucky last month so I wouldn't be overwhelmed when I got back and I haven't been on the computer since right before my 1 year anniversary with cancer.......July 27, 2006....I thought I would have a hard time with that, but I didn't, just another day.......besides I have something better to spend my thoughts in.......my wedding anniversary is tomorrow and I have way more than a year to go through and realize all that I have been blessed with.....starting with the Man I married......My Jim....blessed indeed!

I have also been very fortunate to have the best insurance which covers my whole treatment....which leaves me with a trail and error of prescriptions...half used.....so many people could use this medicine....does anyone know a program that will take my old meds and give them to those less fortunate (which means FREE) I know my girlfriend was able to do that with her shots while trying to get pregnant....once she was pregnant they gave those shots to couples who didn't have the best of insurance or who's insurance didn't cover trying to get pregnant at all.....any info would be helpful!

Love,

K.

Hi Kim!

It was GREAT to hear from you!  I'm sorry you've had such a rough time, and hope things get better for you and that you get a good report on Monday.  Congrats a day early on your anniversary.....how many years will it be?  You have a great hubby there, and he's one lucky man to have you also.  You might ask your doctors offices about the medicine.  They probably have patients with cancer also and might know the financial circumstances of who could use a little help.  I know it would make you feel great to be able to help someone like that.  Your upcoming trip sounds wonderful, I sure hope you feel better and can totally enjoy the experience.  I'm keeping you and your family in my prayers hon.

Take Care,
~Bilinda~

There you are my lovely 'Irish Eyes'.  I see you have been having it a wee bitty rough... to say the least...yes?   You are certainly a tough cookie.  One to be admired for her strength and determination to beat this sucker cancer.
You can hit it on the head for me too whilst you are at it.  I guessed you were experiencing a rough ride this time; but just think of what it is doing to our enemy...haha!
You  know that you and your family are often in my thoughts and always in my prayers.  I have asked for friends on a prayer web site to pray for you also.  We need all the help we can get in this battle.
Its nice to see that you have found some energy to make an entry.  I so admire you for that.  It can't have been easy for you from the symptoms and side effects you have described.  You are a special lady, of that there is no doubt.  Stay well and strong.
Hugs  Jeanie xxxx

You might want to check with churches that go on mission trips to provide medical care in other countries. I know that we always need meds.....Dr's go with us, but we also have to take any meds with us for treatment. All of our care is free to the people and we rely on donations completely. I hope all is going well with your treatments, I certainly will continue to remember you in my thoughts and prayers. Happy Anniversary!!!

It's good to hear you. I figured you needed your strength and that you were resting and letting the chemicals work their magic. I'm sorry that your taste buds are burnt right now..I know how hard that makes it to eat.  But please force yourself, what about really really good smelling foods? Can that sense overcome the other? Still praying for a swift recovery and cure....love, Sandi

God Heals

Remember when you heard the words -
and your mind went blank - you were in another world
God heals
Remember in your darkest hours -
when all that surrounds you is pain and sorrow
God heals
Remember friends' prayers - your family's encouragement
- glimmers of hope from everyday angels
God heals
Quiet...you can hear Him now -
always there - yet never this close
God heals
It's just another day -
yet everything has changed - and you hear yourself say
God heals
Birds are singing -
the sky is a beautiful blue - flowers are blooming...
God heals
Truths that you knew as a child -
awakened again with new understanding
God heals
Remember when others can't -
that life is a gift - each day to treasure
God Has Healed

I hope so much this treatment is having the desired result. Jim is your rock, you are blessed.

We are recovering from the floods here, our house just escaped being flooded, what went on the garden was scary and one of my photos ended up on the telly. I nearly got myself killed rescuing my chickens!

But, all is calm now.

I saw the Northern lights once here, its rare to see them so far South. Dad got me out of bed to see. It was magical.

Hope to hear good news from your next results.

Love,

Linda x.

Happy Anniversary.  I hope you wake up long enough to enjoy it.  :-)  Shall we start calling you Rip Van Winkle?  We don't want you fading away, so wake up every so often and eat!!  As far as meds go, when I was doing the infertility thing, my doctor was happy to take back the unused meds and needles.  And I was happy to pass it along to help relieve the expense to others.

Take care,  Stephanie

I am praying that this round of chemo goes smoothly for you. I am thinking about you everyday.  I donated my unused shots back to the cancer center. They said they can always use it for the people who come in that are unisured.
Have a wonderful anniversary.
Take care,
Trish

I was SO happy to see an update from you.  I was getting a little nervous about you!  Happy to hear from you!  I know there is a Nicks Law out there that addressed exactly what you want to do - donate unused prescriptions.  I know it a lot of states are in the process of getting bills passed to have the state be allowed to handle this.  I think Colorado and Wisconsin are two that have it together the best.  There is a state rep (Karen May) in Ill. that is either in the process of getting this done in your state or has had it passed.  You can e mail her requesting info.  On her web page it states her e mail address is karenmay58@aol.com  Just like you thinking of others!  :)  Keep the fight going Kimberleigh! -Kelly

So great to hear from you Kim. Happy Anniversary to you both! I hope you have a wonderful trip, you really deserve it. How amazing of you to be thinking of others when fighting such a tough battle of your own. Thank god we don't have to worry about insurance, the NHS may not be perfect but at least everyone gets free treatment. Sending good thoughts and vibes your way.

Wish I could go up North with you guys. I hope you're feeling well enough to enjoy every day if it Kim.
I used to say that I wanted to go see the Northern lights before I died and then one year in Va, they came to me. It was the scariest, most amazing thing I had ever seen. Before and after we learned what it was, I was singing, "it's the end of the world as we know it." LOL

I hope you both had a very happy anniversary.

love you and God bless you.
