Some kind of freedom.....

Well, I just spent the last hour sitting outside under one of our tall birch tree's plucking my head hairless......With my Youngest Daughter Rachel by my side and Jim and lil Jimmy checking in on me telling me that I am beautiful and not having hair makes no difference....made for a quiet acceptance that I am once again bald.....a few tears fell but with a few hugs from my baby girl, the trials and tribulations seem sacred. There is a freedom knowing that you are going to lose your hair (once again) and knowing that it will come back again when it's ready. I chose not to buzz it, but let it come out at the root as to with the hopes that if it all came out follicle and all at the same time, it might just grow back in at the same pace instead of here there and everywhere......weird part is that just at the nape of my neck where the radiation didn't reach that hair won't pull out with a crow bar....I have fringe! lol

I'll post a new pic with my bad, bald self soon.....Rachel told me my eyes are even more beautiful when I don't have hair.........how cute is she??? What a sight we must of been sitting on the bench grooming myself like a baboon, letting the wind carry my hair where ever the four winds blow...I feel at peace now knowing that it's all over and new hair can start coming back.

My dear Kim,   I hope all the little birds will sleep well tonight with their little nests lined with your beautiful hair.....  It was so good to have the family sit by you today.  I am just about to go to bed. It has been a lovely day here in Wiltshire England.  Much Love  sybilsybil45

Your friend from England took the words right out of my mouth about the birds will be using your hair in their nests.  Rachel is right....you are beautiful no matter what.  Big hugs to my sweet sister !  I love you.

Fringe or a small tail! I think bald is beautiful especially when its worn with a spirit such as yours! What a child, to help Mom find her freedom. Hope your days that lye ahead are filled with happiness to go with that new found freedom! Take care of you!

Awwww, when you have so little control over what's going on having the choice when you go bald does feel very good.  I saw a picture of you when your hair was just coming back and you are beautiful - with or without hair.  Just keep hanging in there Kim - you are doing great.

I can't believe you plucked it!  Did you get a picture of your fuzz before the plucking?  I've heard of some ladies using duct tape to get the bits off.  Your family sounds as sweet as you.
Take care,  Stephanie

My MIL had one of those "rat tails" we called it, she said she felt like "furby". LOL
I can picture you all on the bench twittling through your hair as is flys away. Ibet your eyes are prettier without the competition. Do you watch "Greys Anatomy"? THe Chinese girl had her eye brows shaved off, WOW, now that was something!

When I had chemo, I lost my eyelashes, eyebrows, pubic hair, leg & underarm hair.......... and just the hair at the front of my scalp...I had to shave the sides and back...go figure.  My lashes came back, but my eyebrows still aren't right...oh well...Hang in there lady...you will make it.  Ginny

"Who Loves Ya Baby" HA!

So if we find some hair what do we win? :-) Maybe it will be like the feather in Forest Gump floating everywhere! :-)

As I drove home today, pushing back the tears, after hearing I do need back surgery & that even with that I have other disks that are degenerating quite a bit & they don't want to upset those so they will do the minimal they can, I thought I'm still ok that others are being so strong with so much more. You are so inspiring!

Your styling here. The fringe will be all the rage in the next few months when all those young chickies see how great you look. They'll be trying to imitate your wide eyed beauty. Take care.

When I read the line in your entry where you wrote that you let the wind carry your hair to where ever the four winds blow, I felt such a freeing feeling for you.  It is so symbolic!  Maybe it is age, and with age comes wisdom, but I don't connect hair to beauty any longer.  Beauty comes from the spirit and it has been a long time since I have seen someone with such a beautiful soul.  I think it was a touching moment with you and your daughter and it means so much and I am sure it meant so much to you when she said it makes your eyes even more beautiful.  That comment goes deeper than a compliment. I believe we are all put here for a reason, and I am starting to think your reason is because you add so much beauty to the world...now that is ironic!  A bald chick that can spread beauty better than any super model out there! :) YOU GO KIMBERLEIGH!

Kim, all the pictures of you I've seen to date show one gorgeous lady with a smile and twinkle in your eyes that would light up the world dear. Keep the spirit, enjoy your day....Hugs to you.....Arlene (AJ)
