Hair glorious Hair!

Being that I am a woman who has been without hair for almost 4 months now, I think when it finally comes back in fully, no one will ever hear the words,"I'm having a bad hair day" come out of my mouth again. I never thought of hair being more than ornamental before I lost it....now being that I live in Chicago which is notorious for wind and wind chill factors, I've come to realize that hair is also a great insulator....can you say BRRRR!

This past Saturday was so cold and so windy that I had visions of chasing my wig through the parking lot while out shopping with my Sister...even with my hood on the wind almost blew my wig off into the great blue yonder....I pictured myself doing that 'stomp dance' you know the one I'm talking about..when you try to stomp your foot onto something that is getting away from you and you think you got it but you keep stomping and running and stomping and running....and pretty soon you just give up! lol lol lol Could you imagine chasing your hair???? lol fugetaboutit!!!!

I'll just be glad when winter is over and I have more than fuzz on my head... I have learned to appreciate so much more out of life than I ever did before being diagnosed.

Life is good and I am thankful!

I know you have been so brave and you are doing so great looking on this with a great attitude about everything.  You hang in there and one day your beautiful locks will be back and better than ever!!  Prayers!!  Many hugs and stay warm!!  I'm think of all the darling hats you can probably wear too and wishing I was hat shopping today instead of unpacking moving boxes.

and it might come back better than ever! my mil's came back curly.  now, with a good cut, she just washes it, adds some gel and get it like she wants it.  and it stays!  i wish I could fix my hair every morning by just running my fingers through it!!!!
try to stay warm!

Kim, thanks for the remembrance of our days of living in cold, wintry Chicago area....I don't miss that, it's cold enough over here in South Carolina.  Love your bright, sparkly way with words and the laugh you are always bringing to all of you.  You are one special lady dear, know when your hair comes in it will be doubly beautiful too match the lady who is already beautiful in all of our hearts....Arlene (AJ)

That's quite an image, and you're quite a woman. I admire your courage. Odd you mentioned hair today. My younger sister was just commenting that her hair was really getting thin - falling out in  places. I reminded her of how so many people,
including children, lose their hair to Chemo. Pretty soon you'll have hair again. I know the lady in the mirror will really smile about that.

The phrase Letting your hair down may come in handy when it's all back, Kim :-D

I know about that dance. I like to wear hats and they always seem to blow off my head. You will have a cute new hair-do when your hair comes back in. Paula

Ah, that dance. The Windy City Stomp. Been there, done that. Hell, I'm still doing that. Suppose to warm up next week. 25 by Monday. Sounds like heaven to me.

I have white hair.  I have very long white hair.  Someone once asked me why I don't dye my hair.  I answered 'because its mine'.  I'm glad I have very long hair streaked with very long white hair, but I would shave my head bald for you my dear friend, so that you may have a hair day.

I can just picture the stomp dance.  How soon before your hair grows back?  Soon I would think won't it.  Glad your out and about and still have a great sense of humor.

Hi Kim,

You're soooo funny lady!  I am sitting here giggling at your humor.  I'm sure your positive outlook has helped you enormously with all you've been going through lately.  I hope you're feeling better each day, and that your hair will be even more beautiful than it was before!

Take Care,
~Bilinda~

that is so funny!   if I did that in my family I would get hushed and moved to another room to be given a talk to. yep it would be my "lets not be funny" sister to do it too!  and yes even though I am 47 she still would treat me like I am 4.

you go gal...be funnny..and knock them alive!

That hair will come back more beautiful than it was before...count on it! You should let me buy you a nice hat in the meantime! You pick it though, ok? :)
