Since I had my chemo on Tuesday and I usually don't feel any sick side effects till the upcoming weekend I thought I had a few days of "normal" allotted to me..........WRONG! Wednesday I was a good girl, stayed in the house, off the stairs ate what little I could but drank all the water I was supposed to. So Thursday I finally go to buy a refurbished lap top (DELL) and go to pick it up, The sales man gave me $20 bucks off the lap top, a free mouse, and all the cables I needed......I'm thinking this is going to be a good day..........right??
Feeling so good, I'll stop off at the grocery store.....now mind you I only buy maybe 15 items and while I'm standing there waiting for the girl to finish putting my bags in the cart, I get overly warm and next thing I know I passed out on the grocery store floor....I feel as if I'm in a very restful sleep, but there is some man talking to me....my eyes won't open.....finally I open my eyes to see what the fuss is all about and it's all about me! The back of goldylocks is flipped up over my head, I am still flushed in the face and my rescuers don't know if they should leave me down on the ground or sit me up and pour cold water down my throat. I didn't want an ambulance called, I didn't want a family member called......I just wanted to sit out in the cool breeze for a few minutes...so they all followed me out to my truck, put my groceries in the back of it and all said they would follow me so I made it home safely. I had enough attention for one day and promised that I would drive extra slowly to my house less than 2 miles away.
I make it home, leave the groceries in my truck (nothing was perishable) and climb into my bed, M Sis-in-law calls I groggily tell her I passed out at the jewel but that I'm home, she doesn't hear the "home"part. I tell her I need to rest and hang up......she calls my Mother and gets her all upset, Laurie is getting dressed and plans on hitting all the Jewel Stores in my neighborhood since she doesn't know which one I shop at.....My Mom tells her to wait and calls my cell phone, I answer the phone from my bed and tell her that I'm fine and that all I need is rest......she clicks over to tell Laurie I'm home and fine. "Search for Kim called off" lol lol lol.... My poor Sis -in-law was so freaked out!
I guess I don't care where I put my head to rest.....now all the other times I have just fallen over, this time I justpassed out......what a weird feeling. I've fallen at a funeral, I've fallen at the hospital, I have fallen out of the tub, into my bedroom wall and so on.......bubble wrap I tell ya! BUBBLE WRAP!

Eeeek! on the fall, but YAH! on the laptop! I think that you are going to love the laptop. Be sure and set up a Wi-fi network if you don't have one so you can use the laptop anywhere in the house (and even in the yard if your signal is strong enough!!
Oh good gosh ... that's an interesting count you've got going. A fall here, a fall there ... yikes!
Bubble wrap sounds a good plan. LOL
Take care, rest up and enjoy that new laptop!
((((((((((((((((((HUGSTOYOU))))))))))))))))))I am glad your safe and home and resting.Have a nice day/
Well, as long as there weren't any lasting effects from your encounter with mother earth, that's all that matters.
Kim, can't you have one uninteresting day like most of us, lol. I'm just so glad you are ok, did you call your Doctor and let him know you passed out. How wonderful that so many kind folks at Jewell's were there for you and showing you care. Can see how your family was in a real panic, but as always with you, things work out. Enjoy the lap top, expect to hear from you even more now dear. Truly just glad you are doing ok, the bubble wrap thought might work if you keep falling or passing out, only you would have thought of that, lol. Take care, Hugs to you dear.....Arlene (AJ)
Trust you to see the funny side of passing out at the grocery store! And...just think of the lovely popping noises bubble wrap would make if they had to sit you up! Folks would think that bonfire night and the fireworks display had begun early. Lol! I would be the first to give you a cuddle as I love listening to bubble wrap popping. hehehehe!
Seriously...
Please take it easy and enjoy your laptop. They are a God send! No more up and downstairs for you my girl! Comfort within reach of your fingertips. That's the style!
Eat lots of salad leaf spinach. That will replace the red blood cells the chemo hammers on the head.
Take care dear girl. Prayers are always being said for you every night.
((((Hugs)))))
Jeanie xxxx
bubble wrap sounds like a good idea - and once you don't need it anymore, you can sit around and pop it! ..ok, so i don't get out much..
glad you're home and safe, kim.
Kimmie,
So glad that you're okay. Please be sure to let Dr. Serious know that you passed out. That's a pretty harsh side effect...and not so good when you're driving yourself around.
Take care of yourself. Rest easy.
Still Praying,
Jamie
OMG Kim! I am so glad that you were okay! Oh yeah... bubble wrap would help... you are going to be sore my friend!
Sending you prayers and hugs... Rest for the weekend... Hopefully it won't be overall as bad this time!

It scares the crap outta me when I do that Kim. I'm so glad I have Robert and that he has been with me every single time. Poor guy, it scares him too!
take care and be extra careful when out alone.
thinking of you.
Lahoma
Wow I'm glad you didn't get hurt! Get rest this weekend and please be careful.
Pam
I've only fainted once in my lifetime and it was when I was pregnant and they were drawing blood. It was so embarassing because this little girl across from me was saying "Mommy what's wrong with that lady." She showed a whole lot more bravery than I did but maybe my fainting was just the distraction she needed to get her work done, lol. After that, they had a note in my file and would always make me lie down. Glad you were okay after the fall! Bubble wrap, lol. How about one of those rubbber sumo wrestler suits!!
You are a one-off, Kim. Only you could make such a funny entry without an ounce of self-pity.
Hope you and Goldilocks are none the worse for the experience.
Bunny xx
your such a sweet brave lady. I hope you are ok today.
love and prayers.
katie
Oh my gosh, and its a good thing you hve such a great sense of humor I had to laugh at the wonderful wry wit in this story, even as I felt like crying. I am sure all those who love you felt the same, and I can just imagine the thoughts of those following you to make sure you got home safely. They must have recognized a warrior exhausted from battle and needing to lie down! And followed along in great respect. Rest well, my lady. Some peope grace the world just by living in it. Gerry
put ya feet up! Thats an order! Beckie x
So sorry to hear you had such a bad day! If you must go to the grocery alone, maybe try using the motorized shopping cart thingy with the basket for the groceries. Take care of yourself and REST up this weekend!
I think you should pretend you are drunk and really create a scene...
Praying for you.
Marti
I think I have some extra bubble wrap around here somewhere. Just think of all the conversation you gave people in their otherwise boring grocery shopping day. What excitement. I am glad you made it home OK. Take care.
