ROAD TRIP!!!!!

Yeah, Yeah....isn't Grandma Annie just precious! That woman has cracked a few hard plastic hairbrushes over my head in her day! lol well deserved I'm sure but still....... OUCH! She likes to tell the story about when I was about 4 years old we just moved to Illinois From a Texas Military base and she was trying to get me to sit still so she could brush my hair.... I told her

OWWW! Your hurting my pretty hair and she said down the end of her nose..........you don't have pretty hair! Ya that came out on therapy! lol lol lol lol Now with me losing my hair twice in 8 months that story makers her cry.........all is forgiven dear one... all is forgiven! She is where I get my fight from her and My Mother.....Both strong, strong women!

Ok, now for the real reason I'm doing an entry.........

ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!
I am heading South to the In-Laws...it's that time of year for the family reunion and we have yet to still tell Ruth and James that I'm still sick. We have our own reasons from keeping this from them until now because the last time they kept burying me until they saw with their own eyes that even though I still have cancer and it has done the unthinkable (spread) So we wanted to tell them face to face so they can see I am still in my battle mode. I also feel this has given them 6 months of peaceful grace instead of worrying every time the phone rang, or the doorbell rang....I will leave her to tell the rest of the family at the reunion. I can't even remember if we made it last years reunion, it was right after Melissa and Tony's wedding and right around my diagnostic breast mammo and ultra sound.

It is so WEIRD to know you have a memory issue......pick one I got many to choose from.....is it from the tumor on my brain? Is it from all the chemo? is it just because I was a real blonde before....now I'm just a hairless cat! Is it from the radiation treatments? is it from the morphine? the Norco? So when I come up blank....I just file that under "CHIT! Oh well!" lol again if I knew back then (High School) what I know now I wouldn't have intentionally sacrificed soooo many brain cells......Who Knew??? Lmaoooo

See ya when I see ya and yes I'm bringing the camera....Jim is so worried that a bootlegger is gonna take me out or worse I'll stumble across a Met lab..........could be trouble! I don't think he's gonna leave me to my own free will for a long time!

Kim, you just know how to coax a smile out of a person!  You're the best!  I hope your trip down ~ as well as the reunion itself ~ goes well.

You're in my thoughts & prayers!

::Hugs::

Part of it is being blonde, the other reason is the pain killers and your body fighting this nasty cancer. But mostly blonde I think. You may be bald, but inside your blonde. LMAO

Have a wonderful and safe trip, Kimberleigh! Enjoy your time with Jim and his family.

I have memory issues, too -- I chalk it off to menopause now. Before this, I called it CRS - can't remember shit - from quitting smoking (which I did 8+ years ago, but I still used CRS until the menopause kicked in. LOL).

Have a great weekend,
Hugs,
:) Carol

Kim, don't blame the memory loss on being a blonde, that's what I've been my whole life, so can't be that, lol.  Blame it being on having so much going on daily that you are just on overload dear.   Have a wonderful get together with your In-Laws, know they will be so happy to have you with them and them seeing you will show them that you are getting along just fine dear. Heading South, if coming through SC, you are welcome to come our way and crash at our home, let me know. Would be wonderful meeting you face to face.  Take care. Let me know?
Be careful traveling.  Arlene (AJ)

Your grandma sounds just like my mother....ouch!   I had black curly hair and she always tugged it when she brushed.  If I ran away from the torture instrument I got it thrown after me.    Lol!  Oh the painful memories of tears and pleas!  Your memory blanks have just got to be hormonal as I have had them on and of before and since my chemo and radiotherapy.  And I'm not a blonde! I'm grey dyed a medium brown...lol!  There's one good thing about it Kim...we have all been in that 'loss of memory boat' at one time or another.  Your family and us will fill in the blanks where needed...lol!  Enjoy your trip, laugh lots and make lots of happy memories.   Bon Voyage!   Hugs    Jeanie xxxxx

Funny how things change...I can not imagine saying anything close to what was said to me and my siblings as we were growing up!  Thank God we are a much kinder generation!  My sister and I still talk about the hairbrush marks and the wooden spoon marks that we would get when we were unruly!  My Mom is horrified now when she looks back at that too!  ENJOYY, ENJOY, ENJOY the reunion - nothing like being surrounded by love!  Makes ya smile!  I was with 50 members of my hubby's family last week and I am STILL have a love smile on my face! -Kelly

This sounds so fun.  I have an understanding about relatives that wanted to throw the dirt in on me and I hadn't even died yet.  Continue to fight.  I admire your decision to tell who you wanted told.  Have a great time and your Grandma sounds precious.  I know how she must feel though.  If something like this happened to one of mine...

I think your hair was beautiful :-)

I'm sure Grandma Annie just meant that your great beauty does not depend on your hair. Yeah, yeah, that's it. (Same thing your scores of admirers still understand today.)

Enjoy the hell out of that trip, Kim!
