What did this week teach me?

Things I learned this past week...........

My Sister was mugged this past week, the person who mugged her was driving a brand new Ford Expedition with pimped out rims and a kick butt sound system. I guess he thought what was my sisters was his also. He did some damage to his SUV with the shopping cart he bumped into my sister while he was mugging her, he also almost hit another woman who was coming to the aid of my sister. So what did I learn? Strap your purse into the child seat on the shopping cart with the seat belt provided, that way if someone makes a grab for your purse, they have to take the whole damn shopping cart with them! Oh yeah and buy a large heavy can of something so you can hurl it at their vehicle as they are driving away. BTW........she got her purse, wallet and cell phone back immediately thanks to a passerby who saw the idiot whip it out his window, after he lifted the cash out of it but not before she got his license plate number! lol

Another thing I learned this past week is that some people think just because they are having a chitty day, that gives them the right or the excuse to try and ruin someone elses day. Do what I do, if your having bad day stay home and away from other people, it's a gift to you and to the people in your world!

Hardest thing I re-learned this past week? Tell people who have brightened your life with the sharing of their own life how much that meant to you, some tomorrows never come for some! Pamela you were a very bright light to those who blogged here!

I'm glad your sister got her wallet back at least. It can be such a hassle having to cancel things and trying to remember what you had in there. It happened to me in my own drive-way when I lived in the city. Hey that is a good idea strapping your purse in the cart. Paula

This week was hard. You are right though we all need to let people know how much we care because you never know. So just want you to know that I read you all the time, love your journal and especially the pictures..but I don't always comment....Sandi

Kim,

I'm sorry about what happened to your sister, but thank God she wasn't harmed and is safe!  It's crazy, this old world we're living in.....As I've told you before, I love reading your journal and really enjoy the pics you include also.

Take Care,
~Bilinda~

Yeah, it is a good thing your sister is alright. Why do some people have to be such jerks? I would have never thought to strap my purse to the cart. Good tips and thanks for visiting my blog:)

Glad your sister is ok. I hope they catch that guy. I strap my bag to the buggy lots of times. Mostly during the Christmas holidays. Helen

It is a tuff planet sometimes...I often think a just punishment for such crimes would be the reinactment  ( virtual) of the same crime on their loved ones. Impossible I know...
And everyone's friend Pam....she reached out in her journal and found everyone there in her darkest hours. Jland and Blogger friends alike watch a very difficult journey and stood by her for support . How sad...very sad, 296 days of of the impossible struggle.

Im glad that she is ok. That could have been a much worse scene nowadays.
It infuriates me that some dont want to work for a living, but just take from others.
Where does she live ??  In the city ??
Cause I thought you guys were in the burbs ??

OMG!! How scary! Glad they got the guy! They did right, you said someone got the plate #.  Gee, wonder if it was a stolen vehicle on top of it, or just someone needing to pay that hefty SUV and gas bill payment, LOL.  sheesh.  good idea about strapping your purse into the shopping cart, never thought of that, but would be so like me to then forget to unlock my purse and leave it behind....might just start carrying the money in my pocket and forget the purse!  how is your sister doing?  hope she's over the scare.  so frightening.
