Happy Birthday Melissa!

I have chemo again tomorrow, (3 weeks on 1 week off) I have a feeling they will be changing the chemo again, I'm starting to get those little blue bruises again, like when was running low of potassium. Being tired is the weirdest feeling in the world! I can sleep 24 hours straight and still feel like I just missed the missed the bed! lol When I first found out I had breast cancer, I thought ok, I'll have  it for a little while then when I am done, I done with it. You're aren't even sure how you feel about the cancer, they told me I would have 8 weeks of chemotherapy and 2 years of physical hormone replacement, I STILL don't know what exactly went wrong where but something sure didn't work out in my best interest......there are days I loaf of bread confuses me! lol

We all have our childhood issues and with my Brother he was always told he was never going amount to anything, he was no good..so My Father told him like his Father before him...My Brother's intelligence would be questioned,my Sisters's weight would always get asked even though she really wasn't overweight and you could never get away with calling me stupid! Well........I get pretty stupid now, Like a said a loaf of bread confuses me and I wish to God it was a joke! Who knew Chemo was so life altering huh?? lol

One of my buddies is in the mattress business and I am so impatient instead of waiting a few extra days I ran out and bought one by myself......instead of waiting for Jim....a queen didn't even fit in the back of suburban...I called my Brother and he saved me...(pick-up truck)....sorry BOB! Thought it was going to be a quick hop, skip and a jump and I'm in my new bed! lol Now I'm looking for a small student desk for Lil Jimmy's old room..... I have my lap top now and I am slowly getting used to it........just to keep all my paperwork on.

I never was a great house cleaner but I do want to at least look like I am putting the house in some kind of order.....don't worry I'm not going anywhere,,,,, Bob owes me lunch...they just refinished remodeling the restaurant so don't worry Bob there is still a chance you'll get to buy me lunch! lol lol lol

So what did I learn this weekend? Queen beds don't fit in suburban's, you can still call your brother to move a mattress, Bob still wants Mongolian BBQ and a lap top is not any faster than a PC!

To my friends and family that are giving me my space right now I really appreciate it, I'm not sure where my body is going with this cancer thing but it's definitely working it's way through the rest of me, I don't know how much chemo I am going to end up having, I never know how much illness I am going to have with it either, I just know it sure sucks right now to be me!

Hello!

Just a lurker here that wants you to know that you are in my daily thoughts and prayers too.  I can't even imagine the feelings you are experiencing now!  Your strength and determination is totally admirable.  I don't think that I could be as strong as you dear warrior.   I do think that laughter is a welcomed relief to any illness and found a couple of things I would like to share with you.  Here are some bumper stickers you might find amusing:

From "I'd Rather Do Chemo than Clean Out the Garage"
  by Fran Di Giacomo:

MY WIFE AND MY MONEY GO TO CHEMO
PARDON MY DRIVING-I'VE BEEN MARINATING
CHEMO-SHMEMO-I'M STANDING UP!

HOW'S MY DRIVING? CALL 1-800-MARINATE

There are more items here:  http://www.cafepress.com/planetcancer if you are interested.

One more interesting site I found was here:  http://www.cancerfightingstrategies.com/immune.html

Again, I just wanted to say hello and let you know there are more prayers for you out there than you know!

Strength and Blessings to you and yours,

Laptops may not be faster, but they are small and cute.  Just like you!  I'm sorry about the little bruises showing up and all the tiredness and thinking issues.  This has been such a long haul for you.  I hope you are able to get done with this and get back on track with healing soon.  You are a trooper.

You are in the hearts of so many, Kim.  We truly love and care about you.

Kim,
I used your words (miracles and Hope) to find quotes that I feel you need to read.

"Miracles are spontaneous, they cannot be summoned, but come of themselves" (Katherine Anne Porter).

I find that it is not the circumstances in which we are placed, but the spirit in which we face them, that constitutes our comfort.
Elizabeth T. King

The Lighthouse Of Hope

The Lighthouse of Hope
Sits on a quiet and peaceful slope;
It shines out into the current
And warns you of the impending torrent.

It will help you on your heavenly trek,
And prevent you from becoming lost and shipwreck.
It shines out into your darkest night;
It’s your everlasting illuminating light.

The Lord is there in our spiritual boat;
He guides us and leads us and keeps us afloat.
His light shines out into the black;
It fights off and stops every attack.

He is our strength when all else fails;
His love and power always prevails.
When it looks like all hope is gone,
God’s hope and mercy will always live on!

hope to see you online in the near future.

I'm not sad for Kim, she will be in a better, pain free place. I am sad for the loss and sorrow her family and friends will endure. The world's light will certainly grow a bit dimmer when she leaves, but heaven will gain an angel. She will live on in the hearts of all who loved her and were blessed enough to be touched by her. {{{{{{{{{{{{Kim}}}}}}}}}}}} Thanks for sharing your journey with us.

I had written a poem a while back in my journal with Kim in mind!  Hopefully, she passes peacefully and my prayers are with her family!  -Dawn-
“Strength”

What lies within me is the battles of a thousand years,

Millions of heartbreaks and about a billion tears;

Still I have power to stand strong against the slings and arrows.

Nothing will bend me, break me or make me feel weak when there’s a challenge I must face.

I will face down fear, spit in her eye, kick out my own sadness, and tell disappointment to say, “Good bye.”

No one will change my view and nothing will alter my thoughts.

The storm will pass and I will be strong.

No matter what goes on I will find the strength I’ve stored up during horrible times and bad dreams.

My heart will grow wings and I’ll soar beyond my pain;

And my insecurity.

I may cry, briefly, demand to know why, but no matter what I’m not prepared to give up and I will not say good bye.

Not unexpected, but deeply, deeply saddened by this news. I hope, Kim, that you're not in pain or discomfort, and will not be when the time comes. Wishing you and your family and friends strength, both those with you in person and those out there in J-land. You're one heck of a fighter.

I have been missing Kimberleigh and will continue to miss her.  She is, by far, one of the MOST amazing women I have ever known.  I am beyond sad to hear the news, she will be in my thoughts for years and years to come.  Her family will forever be in my prayers.  As so many people know, there is just no other like her.  She has an outlook on life like no other and anyone who was blessed enough to know her is better for it. She is the most INPIRATIONAL person I have ever known.  Creative, Deep, Loving and in touch with all that really matters. I will miss her so much. -Kelly

I am truly saddened by the news of Kim.  My prayers go out to her and her family.  The coming weeks will be very hard for those left behind and will need our continued prayers for their healing.  Kim's journal was the first journal I have read on the net.  I instantly became a regular reader and will greatly miss her sense of humor.  I don't think it was by accident that I found her journal with words so inspirational and yet so humorous.  You've fought one heck of a battle courageous warrior and now it's your turn to rest easy...Loves2

    "Stars"
How do we count the lives she touched,
The light she shed for years?
How do we see the difference she made
When we're looking through our tears?
How do we know the things that are
That never would have been
Without her valiant heart that dared
To fight, and fight again?
How do we know what flowers will bloom
From seeds of yesterday,
What songs are sung and dreams begun
Because she passed this way?
How do we measure the shining place
That time can never pale
In all the hearts that cheered her on
And willed her to prevail?
How did her spirit soar beyond
The suffering and the scars
To live with one hand clutching hope
And the other on the stars?
We may not know what she left behind
On the difficult path she trod...
But we know this much: her life's brief touch
Was from the hand of God.

With much admiration for a truly inspiring woman.  I will always remember you, Kim.
In sisterhood,

I know you are in terrible grief right now...so are we...her journal friends...She touched so many of us here......She never thought about herself..always worrying more about how her illness would affect her family...She was one of the most COURAGEOUS people I have ever met in my life...A TRUE ANGEL....I know she is now in Heaven among all the other Angels...without pain....without worry....but bathed in God's Holy Light.
I pray that Our Lord and Savior comforts you; her family, and brings you the peace of knowing that She is always there with you...You may not see her physical body...but her love for you will never die.
sincerely,

In Sweet Memory....

When I think of my friend,
she is one I've not met.
Yet, through the net,
a friend she is to me.
She's laughed at my tales
Regaled me with hers.
Loved her Photography,
so good as to take
your breath away.
She cried for my hurts and
clapped for my awards.
I admired her convictions.
determination and soul.

Her family has become
dear to my heart.
Her daughter sings like
an angel, the world needs
to hear.
All of her children are
held very dear.
A battle she has been
waging against the evil C.
A warrior princess my
friend Kim will forever
be.
Would that I could lend
you strength, I would
gladly do it my dear.
For now our many prayers
are aimed at heaven as if
our thoughts were arrows
straight to God's heart.
Fight on, the good fight
my friend, my beautiful
Irish Warrior Princess.

You fought the good fight,
With all of your might.
Weary now, let the Angels
carry you, as is your right.

Till we meet again, our
beautiful Irish Warrior
Princess...
