Paying It Forward

There is a wonderful person here in J-land that has put together a journal called THE GIVING TREE....what this blog is all about is people helping people. At this blog you will find people who are in need of clothing and other things and people who have enough to give.

I believe in the PAY IT FORWARD theory.......when someone does something to enrich your life or make a tough situation easier to bare, (which I am going through with cancer) a little bit easier, a little bit kinder, you in turn should pass that good will on to others when and if you are able to.

There are wonderful people in J-Land that took time to let me know they were thinking of me and my family during my battle with Breast Cancer and every good thought, prayer, karma whatever you choose to send me has warmed my heart and kept me afloat through some pretty rough days and my eyes fill with tears every time I let that kinda love wash over me.

So it's time I PAY IT FORWARD in your name, the ones who keep me afloat and on my good days I will be getting packages ready to send on to others out in J-Land that could use a little extra kindness sent there way.

I just want you all to know how much I appreciate every kind word or gesture and when I am strong enough, I will be another link in the chain that remembers to be grateful for the smallest of things and when I can, try make someone else's burden a little lighter to carry.

If you are in need or have things to donate please visit this journal and see if somehow you can be of help.....some requests are just for a warm winter coat, many are for children's clothing. Put it on your alerts.....you might have something that you no longer need and someone might just be looking for it. :)

Here is the link........it will explain it much better than I ever could.

Life really is all about putting something back for what we already have, I agree that the "Giving Tree" journal is a good way of showing others that we care.

That is a wonderful idea - I try and keep myself reminded that, as bad as I think things are in my life sometimes, someone always has a worse situation.  I may WANT alot of things, but I do not NEED anything.  I have a home, a job, a car, food on the table, family that loves me, and there are people out there with no clothes to put on their children.  Thanks for sharing the link - it is really making it's way around J-land and I think it is a very positive thing!
Hugs to you,
Ash

I loved the movie "Pay it Forward" and agree with the philosophy, however, I also believe that if you pay back a kindness, it makes for a nice "thank you" to someone who was kind to you.  Make sense?

LOL...either way, I figure your arse is covered!!!  hahahahaha!

The Giving Tree is a wonderful idea - all of my sillyness aside.  It sounds like the concept is really taking off in JLand as I see more and more journals mentioning it.

As for you, my dear, you have a ton of "feeling better" days ahead of you, once you're done with chemo and radiation and are given a clean bill of health.  Please try to concentrate on getting better.  We like it when you're healthy!  God and the rest of us know that your heart is in the right place.

Love and many hugs,
Sheila

You're a wonderful person!!  I'm sorry I haven't been around as much but you know... You are always ALWAYS in my thoughts and prayers and it's your entries like this that show you are such an unselfish person.
I love, respect and admire you... something I can't say about too many people!

I think of you often Kim, we both found out we had breast cancer at the same time. You chose chemo and I did not. I will know for sure if the cancer is all gone in Jan till them I don't think I could be as strong as you are. You're an angel giving support to others when you also need the support. I am there in your corner with you. You will be in my prayers.

The Giving Tree is a fantastic place and I know it's going to do alot of good to alot of people who really need it.

How great it is to be able to focus on the GOOD instead of the BAD!!
